Grand Country Quilters

We are located on Grand Avenue in San Marcos (San Diego County) California off the San Marcos Blvd exit. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff and display of inspirational quilts motivate our customers.

We specialize in reproduction and vintage fabrics from companies such as Andover (Jo Morton lines), Wyndham, Diamond Textiles (wovens), Kamla (brushed cottons), Moda and Marcus. Our wool comes from Primitive Gathering and others. In addition to our "in-house" designers, we stock quilt and wool project patterns from local teachers such as Cheri's Wednesday's Best Quilts, Debbie Lofgren's Little Stitches, Kathy Cardiff's The Cottage at Cardiff Farms. Other pattern designers such as Geoff's Mom, Country Threads, Jo Morton, Kim Diehl, Primitive Gathering, Red Crinoline (formerly Bonnie Blue), Carol Hopkins' Civil War Legacies, Edyta Sitar, Cluck Cluck Sew Sew, Miss Rosie's are also available. We have many projects on display in our style of quilting and we have kits on hand for you to recreate the quilt or wool project.

We keep Aurifil 50 weight thread, YLI quilting thread, Gutterman silk thread and Valdani 12 pearl cotton in stock. You'll also find notions from Creative Grids, Omnigrid, Olfa, and all that you'll need to finish your project.

We have some of the best teachers available. Beginning and on-going quilt classes are held almost every day. You are welcome to drop in on our Sit & Sew classes ($5) to finish your projects, get help on troublesome projects and build new friendships. I hope you will join us for lots of laughter and fun.
